Are you considering converting to an Academy and taking advantage of not having to pay any VAT?
If the answer is yes, read this helpful summary on what to do.
The process of converting to academy status is relatively straightforward. The statutory and DfE policy requirements are well-defined and a number of model documents have been created to simplify the legal tasks in particular. However, every college is unique and will have specific local issues, needs and requirements to be managed within the framework of the standard conversion process.
Colleges’ Buying Club’s principle role is to project manage the conversion effectively so that each college has adequately considered, consulted on, planned for and implemented the conversion process without unreasonable demands on Governing Body and senior staff time and energy.
Our approach is to provide a combination of strategic advice, practical guidance and task delivery. Our ethos is to be an insightful, proactive, flexible, enthusiastic, responsive and realistic project manager. We focus on how the Academy will run post-conversion to ensure that the decisions made during the intensity of the conversion process are for the long-term and that the Academies can operate efficiently from day one.
How can we help your college?
